Register Book Memory Pages

versus Traditional Register Book Pages.

The Introduction of computer and printing technologies has really changed the way many funeral homes create and print their register books and stationery products. The Lifelong Memories printing program has been instrumental in this change. But up to now many funeral homes are simply duplicating the old layouts and content of the preprinted books that they have always made in the past. In many cases this may be totally sufficient. But we would like to challenge your way of thinking in the creation of your register book pages.

Many of you are probably creating the same style of pages that you have been creating for years. The standard “In Memory” page that has some biographic information on it or maybe a “Family” page that lists the parents and spouse of the deceased. Easy to do, but pretty plain in nature.  At the same time many of you are now doing video tributes and memory boards where numerous photos are being shared and most of all many memories are being shared as well. Why not capture some of these memories for the family and create a unique and powerful Memory Register book?

If your register book was more of a Memory book content than a Register book would it be more appealing to your families? If it contained memories in the form of pictures would more family members want one of their own as a keepsake? Maybe.

Our new release of the Lifelong Memories program makes this creation simple and effective. Our Memory page creation process will allow you to easily and with little effort capture some of these memory photos and perhaps even some of the special memories being shared by the family. Think about making at least one memory page or perhaps several memory pages along with your traditional pages, it will make the register book you provide the family, more special and meaningful. We have provided many examples of the types of pages you could choose to create and include with your traditional pages. Of course we challenge you to use your imagination and create some of your own ideas as well.

Here are a few ideas that we have for you:

Life Story Page

Instead of simply copying the newspaper obituary and pasting onto a page or creating a laminated newspaper obituary consider creating a Life Story page. Simply use a photo of the loved one and import the obituary into the page. You can enhance the background by adding an image that reflects the interest of the person. For longer obituaries you can use both columns so it will fit nicely onto the page.

Family Page

Create a Family page that uses actual pictures of family members. The text on the page can indicate the family members names and relationships or you can include a simple prayer or poem. In some cases a poem may make reference to family in some form or fashion. The background image can be simple maybe a bouquet of flowers or a nature scene of some sorts.

Our Love Page

For this page you could include wedding photos, anniversary photos or just photos of the person with their spouse or significant other. For the text on the page you could include information such as wedding dates or how long the couple have been together. Maybe even how they met or a first date. Or you could just use a simple poem or prayer. Including a background image such as wedding rings will help finish the page.

Military Service Page

For a veteran you could capture service photos both formal and informal. With the text you could include service information such as enlist dates, discharge dates, where served, branch of service, etc. Or simply include a military poem or prayer. Including some military image in the background will put a great final touch on the page.
